POWER QUALITY MONITORING

See how your
electrical system
performs

Gridec records power quality parameters while your electrical system is running, and inspects the installation on site. The report gives you the findings and our recommendation.

The event may be over before anyone can inspect it

A voltage event can last a few cycles. An hour later a spot check reads normal and there is nothing left on site to find. A continuous recording captures it, with a time stamp and the load conditions before and after.

    Where monitoring helps

The sector matters less than the question. Monitoring is worth doing when supply conditions are affecting equipment or output, or when a decision has to rest on measurements.

    03

    Seven-day monitoring

Power quality data is recorded during actual operation and interpreted in the context of the issue being investigated.

The monitoring period is selected to obtain a representative record of operating conditions. We recommend a longer period when the issue is intermittent or the operating cycle needs more time.

Before anything is connected, we agree what needs verifying, on which equipment, and what the answer is for.

Measurements are carried out while the electrical system operates under representative operating conditions.

We read the record against the question we started with, and write up the conclusions and the recommended next steps.

    Report

Measurement results, engineering analysis and conclusions provide the basis for further technical decisions.

Power quality parameters are measured using IEC 61000-4-30 Class S methods. Harmonic and interharmonic measurements are evaluated using IEC 61000-4-7 where applicable.

    Measure before you decide

Measurement changes a decision only while that decision is still open. Once the scope is signed and the price agreed, the same data just explains what went wrong.

    RECURRENT FAILURES

Equipment that keeps failing may be damaged by the supply, or by the way it is loaded. The two need different fixes. Recording under load tells you which.

    ACCEPTANCE & WARRANTY

Before you sign off, measurements under representative load show how the installation behaves in normal operation. Anything found then is still the contractor’s to fix, under the contract or the warranty.

    EXPANSION

Solar PV, new machines or a second shift all land on whatever the existing installation is already doing. Monitoring gives the design a measured starting point instead of nameplate ratings.

    ACQUISITION

You cannot see a building’s electrical condition on a site visit. A week of measurement shows what the installation is carrying, and gives you something concrete when you negotiate the price.

    Risk Indicators

The last cell is not a measurement: risk is what we read from the other seven.

    About us

Gridec is an independent electrical engineering company based in Yerevan. We are a small team focused on specialised engineering work and long-term cooperation with our partners.

    WHY WE STARTED

Specialist measurements and analysis should not require a permanent in-house team or equipment that spends most of its time unused. Gridec gives companies access to both when the need arises.

    HOW WE WORK

A useful investigation starts with the question that needs answering. We measure the system under real operating conditions and base the conclusion on what the data shows, whether that points to a problem or confirms normal operation.

    WHAT WE ARE BUILDING

We are building Gridec in Armenia as a small engineering firm whose conclusions hold up when someone checks them. We would rather grow slowly than lose that.
